A Winter Poem
A Winter Poem
You can smell it in the air
You can feel it on your skin
Winter wonderland
Is about to begin
You might think that nature
Has passed and is dead
But the lights are coming
And white, shining blankets will spread
A calm, peaceful beauty
A delicate white glow
Sunshine reflected brightly
On shimmering ice and sparkling snow
Fantastic or horrible
It’s roulette with the weather
Cold, dark and wet
Or the best magic ever
The days are short
The nights are long
But the festive celebrations
Are coming on
We have to enjoy
and protect it while it lasts
Or soon winter will be
A memory of the past
